BANG goes that theory!!
Welcome to the blog of our travels and adventures.
The theory behind the blog goes like this:
Me - have a crazy idea to take the kids to see Australia so that they get to appreciate what we have in our own country and do it all before Harrison ( My youngest son of 4) goes blind.
The reasoning:
Harrison is now 6 & 1/2 and is significantly visually impaired - he has about 5 degrees vision in his right eye only - so we are off to show him the country and make some lasting family memories too. And we deserve to get out and just see our gret country.
The madness :
In planning this holiday it started with I want to go see ULURU.. The first big holiday is now drive from Central Coast NSW via Dubbo, Broken Hill, Port Augusta, Coober Pedy and on to Uluru (Yulara) then return via the same path to Port Augusta and now we have added on the final leg home - down via Mount Gambier and the Great Ocean Rd, see the 12 apostles and a few seals.. then drive home. The holiday magically expanded from just shy of 6000klms to now about 7200klms.. and all in three weeks !!!
So we commence our journey on Friday 20th September. Myself Tracey, My 4 kids, Marlie, Sterling , Ella and Harrison(respectively aged 11,9,8 and 6) and my mum Jan who bravely asked to come along on this trip and will be a welcomed addition!!!
Actually now its on the 21st September as my car had to be fixed - diff, tyres and some suspension works.. and the camp trailer we bought for this mission also needed a new set of tyres too!
So once the mechanic works his magic first thing on the 21st, we are then off...at around lunchtime!!!
First stop Trangie (Western NSW) aka the sticks ...
